The Hunger Games

Monday after I went to the doctor and was a little sad because of the short, uneventful, ultrasound-less visit, Jason and I went to the library. The library always makes me feel better! :) I checked out a few books and some new pregnancy yoga and pilates DVDs. One of the books I grabbed was called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which is what the book club I'm going to is reading this month. Soooo... that was Monday and today, Friday, Jason has finished the book, I finished it Wednesday. We both couldn't put it down! It is in the Young Adult section and has a lot of adolescent details (namely a love triangle). We both loved it though. Jason and I have talked about the possible social commentary that seems to be an underlying message in this book. It is definitely a very fun book. If you're looking for something entertaining and really fun to read, check this one out!

spring has sprung!

I was really excited when I found out it was going to be in the 60s last weekend, so since I have an awesome new cookbook (thank you valentine's day gift Jason) with an awesome looking burger recipe, we decided to celebrate the good weather with one of my favorite things... a BBQ!!!
Here is the grill-master himself Jason cookin' the burgers.

My mom helped out with some awesome strawberry lemonade (with actual strawberries) and I even got out the avocado to slice up and put on the burgers. Splurged on some SunChips; we also made a yummy salad and sweet potatoe fries!!! MMM MMM GOOD!

My future missionary brother Brian!

Here is Brian's missionary picture. As soon as I saw it I thought it was really cute and awesome, cute in a NOT girly way... just, he looks really excited to be a missionary and I love it!

Valentine's Dinner and Dance

For Valentine's Day our stake had a fun dinner party. Jason and I went with my parents. They had a catered meal and Mr. Melody (or something like that) singing some old 50s romantic songs while we ate. Then there was a dance afterwards, big band music. It was a blast.
I love how fun my parents are; my mom is crazy, she's just singing away to the song. :)
Isn't my husband hot!?

Trip to Denver

When we got back from Chile in January we went over to Denver for Martin Luther weekend to see John get baptized. It was quite the drive, Brian, Jason, and I were squished in the back of a car; three people over 6 feet tall is a tight fit. It was really fun though. We joked around a lot and I sang my guts out to some old school Heart and we had a great trip.

Jason and James playing tennis. It was a really warm weekend for January, around 55 maybe. We had a fun trip to the park before the baptism Saturday.

We tried to teach my mom how to throw a football. She got pretty good.

Here's everyone from our family that was at John's baptism. John is in the front right.
