A little catch up...

Isaac had his first Halloween and Thanksgiving and thanks to my sister in law Megan he was well outfitted for the occasions!
Uncle Scott created his Awesomesauce Apple Pie especially for this Thanksgiving. Isaac let me eat it for him, and he would have loved it. Speaking of pies... there were 15 pies, 2 cheesecakes and one cake at our Thanksgiving this year. Each kid (and the two missionaries that came) got to pick a pie they wanted to make and between all the cooks and all the kids, there was quite the showing. We were all excited for dessert.

Little Swimmer!

Jason and I got memberships at the Chicago Metropolitan YMCAs yesterday!!! For Jason's day off today we went to open swim time with Isaac. First we stopped by a swim shop and got an awesome reusable swim diaper for Awesomesauce. Boy does he look good in it! The water was warm, but we didn't stay in too long because it was still a little too cold for Isaac and once his hands started changing colors I decided it was time to go. We hope to go back about once a week and swim with him so he's ready for Mom-Baby swim classes in a few months! Woo hoo! I don't know about Isaac, but I can't wait!

I decided to try and get a picture one of Isaac's cute smiles. He's been smiling since he was a week, but he used to only do it in his sleep. A few weeks ago he started smiling back at us and I know it's cliche, but it makes me melt!

Grandma McDonald made this outfit for him. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the paisley vest and bow-tie. Doesn't he look like his dad!? No wonder I think he's so cute!

Scott just got home from his mission in Brazil on Thursday and James flew to U of Illinois for a conference where he presented a paper. He's the one that looks like a reporter for National Geographic on the right there.

Jason's family came in from Utah and Texas to be there. For all but Grandma Borg it was their first time meeting Isaac! The lucky guy got to be held a lot!

Aunt Shannon even made the trip from U of Illinois to come to the blessing. We realized during this trip that we have been friends for more than seven years now; seems like it wasn't that long ago we met at BYU.

Announcing.....!

Jason and I created an announcement on photoshop to send to siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. I'm a million years behind on a lot of things, but hopefully I can get an email announcement out to everyone at least.

I am a father!! We shall name him Isaac McDonald Awesomesauce Borg

We have decided our son shall be called Isaac McDonald Borg, unofficially he has two middle names, the second one is Awesomesauce. He is a bundle of energy that sleeps when the sun is up and eats when it's down. He is a very handsome young man if I may say so myself. He even has the cleft if his chin just like me.

Becca seems to like it and she has told me before that it is a sign of manliness, as her proof she points to Gaston, the epitomy of manliness, and his cleft chin.

I personally have never been very sure about the cleft's attractiveness quality, but my cleft won me the most beautiful bride in the world and now my most perfect son also has one, so I suppose cleft chins can't be that bad after all.

Awesomesauce has arrived!!!

Our son was born this morning at 9:18. He weighs 8 lbs 6 oz and is 21 inches long/tall. Mom and Baby are both doing very well. We are super excited by his safe arrival and just how handsome he is. See for yourselft.

So Jason and I thought it would be fun to do a little poll to guess how much little Awesomesauce Borg will weigh. I guess I should warn you though, as far as genetics go, he has a good chance of being a plump little one. Jason was 9 lbs 2 oz and I was 11 lbs 3 oz. I was also VERY overdue, but all of my brother's were also over 9 lbs. My younger brother who was right on time was only 2 oz smaller than me. Jason's youngest sister was 11 lbs 1 oz. With all that being said, take a guess on our poll!

Hail to the Red and Blue!

Yesterday Jason, his sister Stephanie, and I stopped at my beloved high school, Davenport Central. It was really neat to walk through the relatively empty hallways and see how the school has changed. Mr. Wells, and old science teacher was there and showed us where they found a time capsule from 1905 when the school was being built during some renovation. There were some neat things there, it was really amazing! I love those sandstone pillars in the front and the character and history my high school has. Some of the crazy politicians in the town (West High graduates mostly) have tried to rebuild the school and tear down the existing building a few times, and the city vote has always overwhelmingly turned it down. As we were walking down to the 2nd floor (the school is built on a hill, 6 stories) towards my favorite place, George Marshall Gymnasium I found the most amazing thing! They have build a practice gym next to the main gym with three beautiful full sized courts. It was the most wonderful thing, almost brought tears to my eyes! :) The Blue Devils deserve that! The old small gym has been converted to a weight/cardio room and looked great! We went to look for my favorite chemistry teacher and found that his room has been upgraded quite a bit; the pealing ceiling and the old wooden chairs that were on the old risers before (it was the orchestra room way back in the day) had been replaced with some nice stuff. It was just an awesome trip I was happy to see so many changes and glad to see that some things still remained the same. It is definitely a very different school then it was when I first attended there in 1998. I loved all four years of high school! Hail to the red and blue! Go Devils!

The new chemistry class upgrade

TWO years and counting!

Jason and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary June 14th. It has been an adventure to say the least! We moved four times last year and went on our first international trip together early this year. We are excited for our new adventure in becoming parents in just over a month! Jason loves me more than I could ever imagined, he is so incredibly good to me, it's ridiculous! I love him more than I thought possible; I know it sounds cliche, but it's soooo true!

Here we are just a few days after our wedding in Chicago, Jason loved it and we are excited to move there someday soon.

Our 1st year anniversary trip to Boston, MA. Here we are in front of the USS Constitution.

Last summer we were lucky enough to live in the heart of New York City, it was amazing and we miss it often.

In the fall we lived in D.C. and were able to see some amazing places; here we are on part of our trip to Gettysburg when we went to Harper's Ferry. The Valparaiso harbor in Chile, one of my favorite cities in Chile.

Favorite Summertime Show

I started watching So You Think You Can Dance last summer about halfway through the season and I loved the show! Jason and I both really like dancing and well, these dancers and choreographers are AMAZING. Last Wednesday was the first day of competition and the first hip hop dance was probably my favorite, although a lot of them were great. I also liked the Samba, the Jazz number with Evan and Randi, and yes, I actually really liked the contemporary modern dance with some Crash Test Dummies (I'm not usually a huge fan of the contemporary stuff). Tabitha and Napoleon were the choreographers for this one; doesn't hurt that I also love Ne-Yo. Fox Wednesday nights, check it out!
